Methodology

How we judge a venue.

We do not label journals “predatory.” That is an opinion, and opinions are not a foundation for a research tool. We report facts, we state our sources, and we tell you what we could not confirm.

For every venue, we check and publish:

What we say, and what we don't.

A fact

“This journal is not indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, or DOAJ.”

An inference — and we will always label it as one

“This journal shows signals commonly associated with predatory practice.”

We never collapse the two.

Where our data comes from

If you think we are wrong.

Any journal, publisher, or author may contest a finding. The process, and its outcome, is public. If we cannot stand a finding up under challenge, it comes down — visibly.

Why publish all this?

Because the whole business rests on it. If we ever ask you to take our word for it, we have failed.
