Local PDF processing.Citation extraction happens in your browser's memory, on your device. PDFs are never uploaded to any server.
No browsing history.We do not monitor, record, or transmit the pages you visit.
Public metadata APIs.To find a DOI or citation record, the extension calls public academic APIs (CrossRef, OpenAlex) directly from your browser — no proxy in between. A generic support address is attached to comply with API "polite pool" rules; your personal email is never sent.
Licensing.Premium is verified against your Noterva account (or an anonymous device ID if you haven't linked one). No personal identifiers are transmitted during status checks unless you linked them at purchase.
Never sold.We never sell, trade, or rent your data. To anyone.
Noterva Journals

Reads Scholar pages locally.The extension reads Google Scholar result pages on your device to identify journal names and annotate results. Page content is processed locally, not transmitted to our servers.
Crossref lookups.Where a journal name is incomplete, the article title and source text are sent to the Crossref metadata API to resolve the full journal name and ISSN. That is the only third-party call.
Bundled databases.Journal reference data ships inside the extension, on your device — no server-side profile of your searches exists.
Anonymous usage counts.Aggregated, anonymous statistics (pages processed, badges shown) — no personal information, browsing history, or search queries.
Not collected, ever.Personal information, browsing history, search queries, credentials, financial, health, or location data.
Noterva Assistant

No accounts, no tracking.The extension does not collect, store, or transmit personal information — no analytics, no cookies, no browsing history.
Selected text only.Only the passage you select is processed, over HTTPS, to generate the summary, explanation, or translation you asked for. It is not retained after the response is generated, and it is never used to train anything.
Keys and counters stay local.API keys and the daily usage counter live in your browser's local storage and go nowhere else.
Children.The extension does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Before the store listings switch to these URLs, verify each against the exact behaviour of the shipping build — especially the Assistant's processing location, which must match what the current version actually does.
